Maybe they are not as much of a master as you think they are. I know a lot call themselves master but are really not. A certificate on the wall and a belt around the waist does not make one a master. I also don’t think much of martial arts encampments/social events (either you train or you don’t; why an encampment) and am very much aware that that is where you meet a lot of these ‘masters’ as you describe.

It depends on the individual and how they feel on any given day. During chemo, I hiked, walked my dogs, went to parties and social events, worked on yard projects and rode my bike. I worked part-time and I also worked on a fundraiser for a non-profit I’m involved with. Some days I was up to it, others I wasn’t. Sometimes I chose a less rigorous activity than I normally would. It just depended. I really don’t think motivational speeches would be my thing though. I didn’t like crowded situations.

Be sure to consider dietary restrictions and make sure you have lots of hand sanitizer and focus on keeping things clean.

When I look back, I had a life during that time, and it was a pretty good one. I just had to scale back a few things and say no to a few things.

For instance: Explain to your class what zombies are and what the threat is to humankind. (Be descriptive of their partially rotted festering bodies so all the girls will go “Ewwwww”.) Help them visualize using charts, pictures, etc, how to implement the plan. Give anecdotes of previous attacks and how the survivors defeated the zombie army.
