I took an initial test to determine whether or not i an attention deficit at a clinic that proposes non invasive treatment. i was given a report confirming my weaknesses i knew i had and i was told i definitely have adult add (im 25). however this was not a diagnosis only a test just so i can know for myself. i am hesitant about going to just anywhere as i had a bad experience when i was 12. parents had me consult with a doctor after numerous teachers and even the principal suggested i should be tested to see if i am attn deficit. the doc asked a few personal questions then laughed it off as if it was an excuse for my poor academics in school and told my parents im fine. i desperately need to be properly diagnosed (or not) so i can see if meds will help. i need a cost effective way to do this as i have no insurance since i lost my wonderful job selling high end and exotic cars. i loved work and sold well but forgetfulness procrastination and lack of concentration when receiving instructions earned me a weakest link title and i was let go. please inform me where i can get cost effective help. i thank u in advance for your responses.

A mother has been forced to have her 8 year old son tested and has been diagnosed with ADHD. He is now on Adderal. However it is no longer working well with him. i was wonder because i have a learning disability and people tell its really attention deficit disorder but my mom told me i had when i was a little kid but it was A.D.H.D kind. i have a doctor appointment on jan 7, 2009 and my doctor is gonna talk to me about it. i hoping get some meds for it so i can go college, i’m 21 years old. im working on my cna thing, i pass the skills test but not the written test so on dec.29 i’m taking my written test agian,

I have been told by a few different people that my son may have ADHD. Before I consider medication for him I would like to try changing his diet. I have heard that eliminating preservatives, food coloring, and processed foods can help. Does anyone have anymore information on this? Thank you!
