Worked really hard on this. Hopefully it’s not too short. Does it need more detail? I kinda like it. Although, I did score top 10% on a managerial aptitude inventory, I would like to put that somewhere….what do you think?

I think your first paragraph has to be subtle and the tone of the letter should convey that you want to apply for XXXX position at XXXXXX and request them to consider your profile given your ….skills & abilities. People who are going to be receiving this letter may not really like someone telling them that you are an ideal fit and asking them to set up an interview to take it further.

Need some perking up!?
I have just received an email to call to schedule an interview for a job that I have been afraid to even dream about! Now as weird as it sounds, I can’t make myself call because I am afraid I will screw it up!!! 
What’s worse, if I am that sacred to just call to schedule an interview, how terrified I would be to actually go to the interview! I know I have to be quick about it because they mentioned that they need an ASAP response and I am sure I am up against a bunch of more qualified candidates than me (or maybe it’s my scared perception) but I am scared @@@@less!!!
Any motivational speaker out there???

Sit down and write what you’re going to say. Read it through a couple of times, then dial the number and speak. They can’t see you on the other end of the phone but you’ll sound really confident it you can read from a script.
Hope this helps and have a good weekend. You’ll be fine at the interview, just remember they want YOU and they need YOU.You are the person they are looking for and YOU can fulfil all their requirements.

i need your opinion…..?
ok im probably going to sound like a six year old girl but its just kind of bugging me: story time-
my friend who is a year older than me has always been good friends with my older brother, also one year older, and eventually we became good friends who i could trust with anything. he always talked to me about success and doing things to make me a better person and that kind of stuff…and having the discipline not to choose things over others…basic motivational info like that. he said he could get me a job at the store he used to work at (he was an over achiever and a good worker) and said he would put in a good word for me. i said great! that would be awesome and thanked him for it…so i went to the store in person talked to the managers and stuff and eventually got an interview…i asked if he did what he said which was to talk to managers he knew and say good things about me, he said no, and i informed him that i got an interview anyway and asked if he had any pointers since he knows what kind of questions they ask. he said yes and would call me tonight. he hasnt called yet and this is very important to me to get this job and he knows that.
so my question is why would someone act like they care deeply and say that they view you as their little bro, and when the time comes to actually take action for you and pull some strings like they said they would, they completely abandon you and leave you out do dry? i mean, i dont lack confidence in my ability, but i know it would be a sure deal if he put in his word for me…im beginning to debate his friendship in which i valued so highly.
sorry for the long post it just really bugs me since hes done things of this nature before

First off, you don’t sound like a 6 year old girl just because you are confused and just because you care.
2nd, this is an issue girls face a lot with guys. We ask them to give us a ring and make plans etc. But they never do. So what do we do? If we call them saying hey so why didnt you call me, we are clingy bitches right? If we don’t…well who knows. This is just how alot of guys are. Their first priorities are them. THEM ALONE. Why don’t you try calling him. Just be all so what are those pointers you said you’d give me. Call his bluff a guess. But welcome to the female world man.

Is it illegal to refuse employment to someone based on their poor language?
I am looking for work in France, my GF is French and i can speak basic French.
I applied for a job which i have 15 years experience in and all skills and certificates required.
They sent me an email 1 month after i applied asking if i was still looking for work and if so, is my French good enough to interview me on the phone.
I answered that i didn’t believe that my French was good enough to talk on the phone however if it was acceptable, my GF could act as my Translator.
I got a reply 3 days later stating ” We are looking for someone Urgently ( even thought the job has been available for 2 months ) and we dont have time for you to learn French, we will contact you if a suitable positon comes available.”
Now, on my CV and Motivational Letter i detail quite clearly that my French is Basic and that im not living in France at the moment. So why would they contact me in the First place? Also, the job is a Rock Driller which the need for alot of language is not essential.
Is it legal to refuse me this position or even an interview based on my level of French even though i am more that fully skilled with 15 years exp?

Zozzie, i dont think you realize just how qualified i am in my Field. And i never planned on filing a lawsuit, i am simply wondering on the legal side of recruitment. Is what they done allowed? thats all

They obviously got someone either better qualified, or who agreed straight away to telephone interview.
Suck it up, keep looking, i live in france too, and in the beginning had similar things happen, you’re not going to filea lawsuit for everytime you get turned down, are you?
I never assumed you weren’t qualified, i’m simply saying they found someone they thought would do the job better than you, and so they took them, over you.It happens, and, a job application is not a contract, it’s only an application. They have no obligation to employ anyone in pârticular.
You’ll find something, but it’s true, when it’s not your first language, it can be disheartening. I had the same problems. One man told me that my “competence” was to speak english, and therefore I shoudl go off to an english speaking country for work. The French do judge people on their nationality, but.. These days, everyone does.
