Pain is weakness leaving the body!!! (If hes in USMC Boot Camp he has probably heard this over and over again).

Tell him how proud he will feel on graduation day, and how proud everyone will be to see him in the uniform. Thats my biggest drive for when I go to basic training. I am looking forward to my family and friends seeing a new, more disciplined, tougher, smarter, more confident me on graduation day. Tell him that the drill instructors have nothing personally against him, and everything they do is to make him into a better Soldier, Sailor, Airman or Marine. Tell him that millions upon millions of men have succeeded in basic and so can he.
