Richard asks…
Those black motivational posters, the funny ones?
We’ve all seen them in offices and the like. But there’s a website, and I can’t remember the name, that has the same sophisticated look to them, but with funny headlines on them. Anyone know the website? They’re all black, usually have an outdoor sport featured on the poster, someone kayaking, or running, and has a clever headline that’s supposed to motivate you, but where are the funny ones?

Mary asks…
Is there a motivational poster with a person with a prosthetic limb on it?
There are the motivational posters that have words like, perseverance, challenge, patience, teamwork, etc., and a picture of someone playing sports or climbing a mountain. I want to know if anyone has seen one of these posters with a person with a prosthetic limb running or mountain climbing, and if so, what the title of the poster is so I can look it up. I am looking for a serious motivational poster, not the spoof ones.

There are a number of such posters for climbing and for the Paralympics. The links below are a beginning. They lead to many more. There are also photographs to which you could easily add motivational words (although none may be necessary). You may have to get permission from the organizations to use them, but I believe that these organizations would gladly share them with you.

Laura asks…
Do motivational posters at work and school truly motivate you or?
do they only inspire grief, anger and nausea?
admin answers:
The creation of motivational posters filled niche in modern society, where the worker and and the employer are more and more removed from actually caring about each other. When capital is traded for services at the employee/employer level, one can expect that at some time the state will reach a level where the employer is trying to get the most for his/her money, while the employee is trying to do the least for the most money. When this starts to occur, your organization either becomes unraveled, or you accommodate the change in ideology quietly by making up for it with things like motivational posters, which give the illusion of organization and cooperation. For what I’ve experienced, companies with the most motivational posters, usually have the worst morale.

Daniel asks…
How do I start my Yahoo group for Motivational Poster collecting?
I don’t know what category to put it in, and do the groups have chat rooms, can you post pictures in the chat rooms if they do.
p.s. Motivational Posters as in the ones with a black frame.
admin answers:
You’d have to scroll around the category to find an area which best fits. Yahoo groups have chat rooms, and that’s all it is, a chat. Pictures would have to be uploaded to the photo area or in e-mail.
