Can motivational posters be used to develop character in children?

I dont think so. They always had them in my school and i just made fun of them and drew on them. What was i supposed to do with some quote about “the world is like and oyster” or some crap anyway? If i saw a poster like “you can accomplish anything if you try” i always thought to myself “yeah i bet thats what the janitor got told and noone dreams about being a janitor but there are still a thousand janitors and only five astronauts”
